Papaya Global alternatives come up for a simple reason: Papaya does not publish a consistent price list for its Employer of Record (EOR) service. Reviews say so, and the figures they quote do not agree. That makes it hard to tell whether a quote is fair, which is why many teams ask for a second one.
This guide pulls together what third parties report about Papaya’s pricing and compares it with Asiacruit’s published starting price. It also lists what to get in writing from any provider that keeps its fees private. We could not open Papaya’s own pricing page, so every Papaya figure below comes from a named outside source. Treat each one as an estimate, not a quote.
- Papaya Global does not publish a consistent EOR price list. Third-party sources estimate $500 to $770 per employee per month.
- Wise lists $750, ERP Research estimates about $650 to $770 and INS Global estimates $500 to $600. None of these are Papaya’s own numbers.
- At those estimates a five-person team pays about $30,000 to $46,200 a year in EOR fees, against from $11,940 at Asiacruit’s published starting price.
- Whichever provider you pick, get the monthly fee, currency charges, setup and deposit costs and exit terms in writing.
Why teams look for Papaya Global alternatives
The first reason is the missing price. When a provider will not publish a rate, you cannot compare quotes without asking for each one, and you cannot tell whether a discount is real. The second reason is scope. Papaya is a global platform for payroll, EOR and contractor payments, so a team with most of its people in the Philippines, Indonesia or India is paying for a footprint it does not use.
A third reason is simply good practice. Few companies sign an EOR contract without a second quote, and comparing Papaya Global alternatives costs you an afternoon. None of this means Papaya is a poor choice. It means the choice should rest on numbers you have in writing.
What Papaya Global charges, as reported by third parties
These are the figures we found. They come from outside reviews, not from Papaya.
| Source | What it reports | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Wise review | EOR at $750 per employee per month. Full-service payroll from $12 per employee per month | Third-party list price |
| ERP Research | EOR at about $650 to $770 per employee per month, depending on country and plan tier | Says dedicated contractor pricing is not published |
| INS Global | EOR estimated at $500 to $600 per employee per month | Notes that Papaya does not publish its rates |
Checked October 16, 2026. These are unofficial figures and can be out of date. Ask Papaya for a written quote.
Reviewers also warn that currency spreads, often 1% to 1.5% across the industry, are not always itemised on invoices. Ask whether a spread applies to your payroll currency, because it adds to the fee.
Papaya Global alternatives compared on cost
The chart uses the lowest and highest estimates above against Asiacruit’s starting price. The pale part of each Papaya bar is the gap between the low and the high estimate.

| Team size | Papaya Global (estimated) | Asiacruit from $199 a month | Difference per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 employee | $6,000 to $9,240 | $2,388 | $3,612 to $6,852 |
| 5 employees | $30,000 to $46,200 | $11,940 | $18,060 to $34,260 |
| 10 employees | $60,000 to $92,400 | $23,880 | $36,120 to $68,520 |
Papaya figures are third-party estimates. Asiacruit’s final quote depends on headcount and scope.
These fees come on top of salary, employer contributions and 13th-month pay. For a Philippine hire on ₱35,000 a month those extras come to about ₱42,522 before any provider fee, as our Deel pricing breakdown shows.
How to price a provider that does not publish its fees
When there is no price list, the quote is the only price. Ask for these five things in writing and keep the answers side by side.

Then ask the provider to quote the same scope as everyone else. A quote that bundles benefits for one provider and leaves them out for another tells you nothing.
Types of Papaya Global alternatives
| Route | Best when | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Another global EOR platform (for example Deel, Remote, Oyster, Multiplier, Rippling or G-P) | You hire in many countries and want one dashboard | Per-head fees, and support that may sit outside your time zone |
| Regional EOR provider (Asiacruit and other Asia-focused providers) | Most hires are in a few Asian markets | A narrower country list |
| Your own entity | You have a large, permanent team in one country | Setup time and running costs. Break-even is often 20 to 30 employees |
| Contractors | The work is short-term and specialist | Misclassification risk. See contractor vs employee in the Philippines |

Papaya has not said. Reviews note that it quotes by country and plan, so the same service can cost different amounts. A written quote on a defined scope is the only reliable price.
It depends on where your hires are. For teams concentrated in the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Vietnam and Thailand, a regional EOR can cost less. Asiacruit publishes a starting price of $199 per employee per month for those three markets.
Ask for the monthly fee, currency charges, setup and deposit costs, volume bands and how long the price is held. Request the same scope from every provider and compare them side by side.
Employees can usually be moved to a new employer of record. Timing and any notice depend on the contracts and local labor law, so plan the transfer date with the new provider.
